Kasımpaşa SK has strengthened its defense by signing Romanian defender Matei Ilie ahead of the new season. The 23-year-old player signed a four-year contract with Kasımpaşa SK after terminating his agreement with CFR Cluj. The transfer occurred due to financial difficulties faced by CFR Cluj, with club owner Ioan Varga announcing that the club would receive 500,000 euros in transfer fees. Additionally, CFR Cluj retains a 10% sell-on clause for the player. Standing at 1.90 meters, Ilie has played a total of 97 official matches for CFR Cluj over the last three seasons. Born in Piatra Neamț, Romania, Ilie began his career in his home country before moving to Italy at a young age. With this transfer, Kasımpaşa SK aims to strengthen its defense and progress more firmly towards its goals in the Süper Lig.
